World, beware. We are entering into the strangely familiar, weirdly clever realm known as the Far Side. Some of you may have grown up reading the Far Side, a strip of single frame comics created by artist Gary Larson, in your newspapers. If you have, you will know that the Far Side is, as Time magazine writes, “unearthly and wonderful.”

While traversing these unearthly plains, you may stumble across Dan Christmann, a bearded theater major who might just be, as our mutual friend called him, the essence of contemporary. For Dan, between the pages of this book lies not only a skewed sense of humor, but also memories.

Thanks, Dan. Your grandpa would be proud.

And now, back to reality.
